theRamoShop
Context
I am currently obsessed with pyrography - the art of burning wood (and sometimes other materials). I started burning around 2020 and eventually made enough things to put together a shop!
I often live stream when I do my wood burning, and have had several viewers submit custom orders for handmade items as well.
This shop was created to not only display my work, but make it available worldwide to my live viewers and wood art fans everywhere.
Objective
To create an online shop for selling my handmade wood burned and resin goods.
Process
I chose to use WordPress with WooCommerce for this project because of my familiarity and the affordability. I used a GeneratePress theme to build the site with heavy customizations.
For product photography I actually hired a friend, Heidi White who is a professional photographer. We worked together on editing the photos and creating a look to represent the brand.
I chose to use a dark background theme for the site because they are known to be friendlier on the eyes, and because it is unusual to see, especially in e-commerce sites, which helps theRamoShop stand out among the crowd.
Results
I'm still working on tracking stats for the shop, but it is open for business!
